So 1982 xj650 Seca, I'm almost finished putting it back together but have some questions on the wiring in the headlight shell. Everything works except the left front signal, brown and black wires but if I hook up the brown wire the signal just stays lit. If you look at the picture, there is a double brown wire with a single connector, a double brown with a double connector, a double black connector not used, a blue connector not used, a red connector not used . I can't see most of these in the wiring diagrams. Can anyone tell me what goes where? Thanks

I don't know why 3 pictures got uploaded. Got the signals working, the brown left signal wire goes to the brown double connector. I guess the other wires don't get used. So why are they there?

Thanks, yes brown connector was for the signal, it's hooked up now and the signals are working.
Now if I could only get the engine to run properly....

For the non-yics RJ, the TCI has the green label (5V2-10, TID14-08) while the yics-engined RJC models has the red label TCI (5G2-10, TID14-06).

So I got the thing to run but it ran crappy. #3 pipe was cold. New plugs, seems to be getting spark at all the plugs, Carbs have been out twice and I cleaned them very well. The #3 plug seems dry. Tried turning it over with the carbs off and spraying starting fluid into the intakes and each cylinder seemed to fire but #3 was weak. Compression is around 150 in #1 & 4, and 125 in #2 & 3.
Bought this bike months ago as a project, It's been mucked around with by PO. It's the Silver non Yics Canadian model. I'll check that TCI unit #.

Checked valve clearances and they're within spec. I was hoping the low compression was just valves but it's the rings. The TCI unit is the correct one for this bike. Didn't change the throttle shaft bushings.

I found a huge vacuum leak when I did a leak down check. The "previous dummy owner" had removed the carb insulator boots and re-installed them with white silicone sealant. #3 Was leaking like crazy.
