loking for pics of racing stripes

I'm looking for some pics of XJ's with stripes painted/stuck on the tank. I have some ideas for mine but want to have a look at others first. Here's a crappy pic of what I was thinking

 

I`m just getting started on my paint, but will post a picture for you, as soon as I can. It`s basically, just a flat black paint job, with a single Candy red strip down the middle.

 

go to a good electrical supply store, get some electrical tape in the color and width you like and put on some temporary stripes
sometimes it takes a while to decide, look at them for a while, move them till you find what you want
don't stretch it putting it on
i never did decide, i just change it when i get tired of it

I think your pic is a good enough example to say go for it!

 

yeah, the pic doesn;t look that bad....I'd be looking at putting a Yamaha symbol on the tail part too....sort of interupting the stripe....

 

that stripe is edged with gold too, in case you can;t see it properly..

 

I did something similar with my 2-up tail, broke up the checkers with a decal (pardon the messed up indicators - gone now):

 

Now that is a good looking bike right there! Man I love that thing.

 

My stripes. The front fender is on now and has the same paint.

 

Looks like we all have the same taste in racing stripes.

 

Here's what I did on my other bike. I was going for the "Eleanor" look (Gone in 60 Seconds). Love that car.
