For Sale 82 750 Seca???

Just wondering, I’ve got a nice barn find Seca that I’m cleaning up and getting ready to ride but Im picking up another identical one tomorrow almost as good. I’m going to use the second one as parts if needed. Looking at EBay I see lots of Seca stuff there so I wondering if it would be worth parting there or keep it whole and get it running/riding and sell it that way. Any thoughts about it?

 

My answer is always going to be to make it ride able and keep it in circulation. I am only going to part one out if it is well beyond being saved. They are too nice a bike with, in my mind, just the right amount of technology to part out a good conditioned unit. Yamaha just isn't making anything as pretty anymore.

parting out a bike takes quite a while some parts go quickly which are the parts you would keep as spares. The rest just sit unless you dump them on ebay real cheap and pad the shipping cost.

I might keep it. I’ve got an 83 GS1100 E that I bought an 82 1100 E for as parts, still got that, now have my barn find gray 82 Seca 750 and going to get another identical one tomorrow. Was going to get it today but had to do a trailer repair so tomorrow it is. Do I need 4? I think so.

 

I can’t keep up with you on your dealings Richard. I wish I had your luck in finding these gems.

Well I just got back from picking up the 750 gray 82 Seca,4.5 hour drive one way, and looking around my shop I realize that I don’t have enough room or time to take it on. So first thing I’ll do is see if someone wants the whole bike as a project. 18,374 miles last licensed in 2011 it’s a complete with no missing parts non seized non runner.$500. Otherwise it will be parted.Anyone seriously interested and I’ll send pics tomorrow morning.Dark now.

Ok guys,decided to part it.18,734 miles.Engine trans $250,no carbs or exhaust,tank silver, solid, not rusted couple small dings $75 front fender scratches no dents $35,calipers,$25 each rotors $25 each,wheels if needed are $50 each with fair tires,forks anti dive $150,another $40 for triples, rear drive unit $100,plastic tailpiece with taillight 75$ passenger grab bar$50 beautiful saddlemen covered seat $100 handlebar controls with wire harnesses$50each gauge assembly $100 headlight and running light assembly $50each no turn signals available,Gray sport fairing with bracket$100 no headlight cover,windshield has minute cracks at screw holes. All of the electrical pieces are there Naturally there are a lot of small parts that aren’t listed so if there is something specific let me know. All plus shipping. I’m at 98629

There are no missing parts.Ive got them all boxed up.

I have the opportunity to get 2 1982 Yamaha Seca 750s that will be parted only. Non runners in good condition.No titles.Im not going to try to title them either .Not seized. They are both complete. Enough interest to make em worthwhile and I’ll do it.

 

Not interested, I have 7 already.

No biggie I don’t have to buy them. $500 each asking price. I’ve already parted a different one for spares for mine. Surprised there’s not more interest. I have an 83 GS 1100E that I bought an 82 GS to part out and I could barely keep up with the demand. These 2 Secas will sit and waste away.

 

Found another one today virtually down the road from me. 81 Seca 750.Under 5000 miles and runs and rides. Maroon. Might try to make the deal tonight. This one wouldn’t be parted,just cleaned up,minor maintenance and resell.

 

Found out the guy has a like condition Vision. Not sure about the marketability of it but if I can get them both reasonable enough I might give em a go.

 

Xz550 is a nice bike as long as the stator issue has been addressed

 

Like so many I find in the NW these two were husband/ wife bikes that weren’t ridden much,the batteries died from sitting and they basically gave up on them. Trying to go see today. Have flatbed will travel.I just relooked at the ad and the Seca and Vision are gray 82s, not the two maroon 82Seca750s I’m looking at.

 

DRAT, he just sold both.

 

Have another 82 Seca 750,gray with complete sport fairing with windshield and brackets to part out. 16,000 or thereabouts miles. No missing parts but no title and I’m not getting one. Any interest?
