Spent a year getting everything rebuilt. Dialed in the carbs. got it off the center stand, wheeled it out into the driveway. Hopped on. Turned the key. pushed the button....

    And nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

Whaaaaat??! I had this thing running at the first push of the button, last weekend ( on centerstand)

My first thought was maybe the kick stand sensor got jostled while pushing out of the yard. I put it up on the center stand and tried again to start. Battery is fully charged.

Before I start digging into things, thoughts? I know there's somewhere I've seen how to jump the kickstand sensor and see if it's the problem. Maybe it's something else?

I did have the headlight off, tightening things down because there's an annoying squeak. Maybe something badly connected in there?

EDIT: I should clarify, for one of the first likely suggestions that will come. It's the new blade style fuse box. not the old style. Starter has been rebuilt, as well.

At least your friends weren't looking on as you tried to cooly ride away from your weekly gathering at the drive-in.

Haha! Something tells me this is first hand knowledge of such an occurance.

In other news! After a year, she's alive! Took her around the block a few times, before I figured I'd better park before someone notices a bike rollin' around with no licence plate on it.

When you're buddies roll up on either side of you at a stop light and each simultaneously turn the key off and flip the run/stop switch then drive away leaving you sitting there wondering what the heck just happened...

Engine run switch is std maintenance item.....Always a good idea to clean/service it every yr or so to clean the contacts......

As well as the push button start switch..........

I find I have to rock the switch ( engine run & start button ) from time to time for it to catch & start to kick over......

Just sayin........these are old bikes......but are fun to ride.....

The first time I did that was on a trip to the mountains and we stopped on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere. I thought I was going to have to call a tow truck. Now that was embarrassing. But a lesson well learned.

it becomes first thing you check when starter does not spin. Done it many times on the 750 with the style of button. Mostly when taking bike off of the center stand
