    Ok just went to check and my new bulbs are 10watts.
    That puts them at a 0.83amps
    2.2-0.83 = 1.37 Amps difference
    1.37/12 = 0.11 Ohms
    0.11x2 = 0.22 Ohms

    Sooo....!

    I need to buy two ceramic resistors rated at 0.22 Ohms?

    I see after shopping for resistors that they come rated as;
    5w 0.22Ohms
    10w 0.22Ohms
    50w 0.22ohms.
    100w 0.22ohms.
    I would purchase the 10w one correct?

    The 10 watt resistors will do fine, especially if they are enclosed in heat sinks.

    Or, you can buy a signal flasher unit that is solid-state, rather than mechanical (solid state flasher will flasher any bulbs, regardless of wattage). You'll lose the self-cancelling feature of the signal system, but many people are not bothered by that.

    So If I walk into the store and ask for a solid state flasher relay I'll be ok? Is there any specific type I should get? Pins?

    Going to try to get one today and put the turn signals behind me.

    Any advice on which one to get would be greatly appreciated.

    Seems like I have a parasitic draw that's killing the battery:(
    Everytime I shut it off for an extended period of time and come back to the bike, its dead.

    Anyone have any recommendations for an ON/OFF kill switch directly at the battery to maintain its charge?

    My thought was to shut it off at the battery and eliminate the parasitic draw from the battery as opposed to finding the source of the draw.

    Sounds lazy, but seems like the easiest route..?

    Anyone else gone through this with their XJ/Battery?

    How long is an extended period of time? Leave any battery sit long enough and it will discharge, even if disconnected.
    You need an automatic battery maintainer.

    charge the battery and pull the main fuse. battery connects to main fuse before anything else. see if you still have a problem.

    how old is your battery?

    Looks great! I have the same bike. I'm looking to do the same thing replace the ugly stock shocks for something similar.

    What size are they? I apologize, I'm new to this, is there also a weight/load requirement I need to be looking out for when purchasing new shocks?

    Thanks
