Roberts got more in his sig so I needed some more.

I have been looking for a cheap bush basher for a while.

    Couldn't find one.

Till today when I found three for a bargain price.

First is an early 90's DR250. Hasn't been running for seven years but still kicks over. Mainly complete except for a missing muffler and chain.

Second is an early 80's XL250S. Hasn't been running for a year.

Thirdly is a 2004 CTX 200. 5400 km on the clock. Needs new front forks but had this one running already. Had been sitting since Feb this year. It's even got brand new tyres on it.

Oooooh! What a SCREAMIN' deal HG, some would say you can't get too much of a good thing like that! That CTX will clean up nice. The XL looks like a quick fix too. Not sure I like the DR.

CTX has cleaned up well. $60 bucks for some second hand XR250 forks and a bleed of the front brakes was all it required. Runs very well.

The XL250 fired up on the third kick on choke only. Throttle cables are rusted solid so can't move the throttle at all.

The DR was a bit harder. Pulled the carb out and cleaned out the thick layer of varnish inside. Removed the seized throttle shaft, cleaned, blew out the jets and reassembled.

Put some gas in the tank and kicked, and kicked, and kicked..........

After about the 50th kick she fired up and scared the daylights out of me. No muffler and an opens airbox under my bum. Let her run for a bit and now it starts first kick. Carb still needs some work as the mixture screw is stuck solid so couldn't get that area clean.

But I'm happy. ANother couple of hundred and all three will be ridable. 8)
