Hey folks. The connector under the seat of my 550 that connects the voltage rectifier to the harness is burnt. Where can i find a replacement? I need both the male and female. Its burnt where the red ignition wire is. Ive been working on this thing forever and just found this.

Be sure to go over the rest of you wiring harness to clean and grease all connections, bulb sockets, etc as well as cleaning all ground connections to the engine or frame. If they got hot there is a reason for it. Once repaired I recommend testing your charging system for proper operation.

I suspect that something is wrong with the charging system. The battery in it nowis not a year old and is shot. Have a new one, just gotta get it charged.

check voltage at battery at 2000rpm and 3500rpm it should nor exceed 14.8 volts. and should be charging around 14 .6 volts

what kind of battery do you use ? if it is a lead acid battery you have to check the fluid level and refill it with distilled water when low.

Well, i'd check the voltage but can't even get the damn thing to start! Started several times the other day, ran for a few minutes then dies eventually not starting again for a while. Runs good for a few minutes though when it does start.
