Hi guys, I've been having some strange issues with the rear signals. The bulbs and connections are good, but they only turn on after fiddling with the wiring harnesses. Can anyone link me pics of where the positive and ground wires for the rear signals end up in or after the main harness? I'll have to take the whole harness apart otherwise because there's too many of those green wires lying around!

On an similiar but not really related note, there's a small brass plate that goes inside the signal switch housing somewhere on the plastic guard. After taking it apart i couldnt orientate it to fit back together. Could I also get a picture of the inside of someones switch housing? Thanks guys

Are the bullitt connectors under the seat in good shape? There is also a ground connector on the turn signal stem that gets corroded. Its behind the nut that holds the stem in the rubber grommet. Its a large ring terminal with a black wire. Its not likley to have any problems in the main harness.
If you have a brass plate out of the switch housing that could be a problem. The switch contacts are brass, the wiring hold downs are steel.

The bullit connectors under the seat are good, but no voltage, and continuity on the light end is good. I'll give the ground a check and see if that fixes it. Still no luck getting the brass piece inside the control switch :(

That plate has a half circle that fits into where the wires come in. Its a clamp to hold them in place. Flip it around

Just want to verify, your front turn signals are working? When you use the turn swx the front lights come on? If that is the case, you will have to do some tracing to find out why the back lights are not getting power. Should be more or less easy to do, just start at the back and work your way to and through each connector. As you hit each connector, take the wires apart, clean them with a brass or some type of brush. The female side can be cleaned with a round file or a sharp pointed object to scrape away and corrosion. Put the connectors together and keep moving to the connections and finally the swx.
If the fronts are working I am guessing either corrosion or an open. It will help if you can wiggle or move the wiring harness and see the rears start to work. Should be close to your hand as the wires don't move that much.

Oh god xD I figured it out. It was just a loose ground. I guess the rear signals get their own on the TCI or something. Either way, they work good! I'll flip that plate around tomorrow as well. Thanks for the help guys!

Just to clarify, the TCI is not part of the turn signal circuit.
Glad you found and corrected the ground fault.

question about your 1100. when you turn on the key does headlight come on ? then go out when pressing starter button?
the 82 and 83 750 maxims do this as they do not use a head light relay

    It's just what I do.
You'll see less of me when I have classes. Grad School: do it while you're young. Ugh.
