I'm replacing my fork seals tomorrow and I'm terrified. I already have the how to thread bookmarked and I have my FSM and a PDF of the same manual with higher quality photos. There's just so many parts in there, I'm worried I'm going to screw something up. It's the most complicated thing I've ever done to a vehicle. Tell me it's going to be okay.

Not as hard as raising 3 kids, I’d wager.

Yeah, but my wife does most of that. I'm mostly the financial backer.

Seriously though, I rebuilt a set of 750 seca forks, and it was way easier than I thought it would be (thanks Chorca for the how-to!). The only thing is that the left fork started leaking again after only a few weeks. I suspect that either there was a nick/scratch in the upper stanchion that ruined the new seals, or the aftermarket seals I purchased weren't up to snuff.

The only thing I'd suggest is to take a really light cloth like a tissue or something and lightly drape it all over the stanchion to see if it gets caught up on any imperfections.
