I'm currently having to bridge the terminals on my solenoid to start my bike, I've traced it to the starter button itself not working. What's the easiest way to wire in a different button to use to start it? I hate having to bridge it each time I need to start it up while working on it

Take the housing apart and clean the contacts. Not sure if on your bike the start button grounds through the control housing to the handlebars then back through to the frame in which case you'd want to make sure there are good clean connections there

Oh and it has a brand new starter solenoid and all fuses are good, I'm 99.9 percent sure it's the button itself, just wondering if theres an easy way to wire in a starter button and maybe mount it on the frame

You can easily wire in a momentary switch if you wanted, but it would be best to do a bit more troubleshooting first as the switch may not be at fault.

In your previous thread you were dealing with relays and their locations - so make sure the starter cutoff relay is in the correct position by verifying the numbers marked on it and the correct colored wires. If that is correct, you should feel or hear the relay click when the key is turned on and the bike is in neutral. If the relay does not click when the key is turned on it may be defective or the safety circuit is not functioning and energizing the relay.

Refer to this thread to identify the relay and the correct colored wires.

If the relay is working and the applicable safety circuit is working you should have 12V on both of the R/W wires that connect to the starter cutoff relay when the key is switched on. You can also check at the R/W wire at the starter solenoid pigtail to verify 12V and a functioning starter cutoff relay / safety circuit.

To create a safe state for the starter you need a working starter cutoff relay and either have the bike in neutral OR the side stand up with the clutch pulled in.

With the ignition on you can jump the wires across the back of the starter swx and it will turn over, it is the swx. Just did the same thing to a PO old swx they had. The wires were good but the swx went bad.

Relay is working, the starter button used to work sporadically when I first got the project but has since stopped, that's why I'm thinking wiring in momentary switch, plus it would be a nice little hidden custom touch, just have no idea how to do it

have you cleaned the battery wire and starter wire that connects to the solenoid and battery.? also clean battery ground wire to motor.
have you opened the control and cleaned the starter button with electronic spray cleaner?
cleaned the connector from the control that plug into the harness both ground and power wires for the starter button pas through that connector.

    there is

Replaced both the battery wire and the starter wire actually as they were in pretty rough shape before, yes I have opened it up and cleaned with contact cleaner as well as the connectors. I'm like 99 percent sure it's the button itself as it was stored outside and in very rough shape when I got it, everything inside the control is super clean

the blue striped wire from the solenoid goes to the starter button then when button is pressed the button makes contact to ground. so find the blues tripped wire at the connector for control and add your button wire there

could be loose wire on button or bad ground from control

are you sure your safety switches are working correctly?

sidestand switch test is removing sidestand relay

clutch safety switch if it is broken( in open state) bike will only start in neutral.
    neutral switch working?

Everything else checks out as working as it should, already removed side stand relay and neutral switch working, I'm almost positive it's the button itself, especially since it was working intermittently when I first got the bike and has since stopped
