so I guess these things are rare I bought it with the intentions of building a cafe racer but I don’t have enough skill to pull it off so I may part it out or sell the whole bike it has 26k miles. It is a complete bike been sitting in a barn for over 25 years so some things will need to be freed up I started to disassemble but don’t want to go to much more if I’m gonna sell it

Hi Josh, Welcome. Standby for lots of folks here to chime in about turning a Seca 900 into a café. They are unusual enough that most of us get quite excited (not in a good way) at that idea. You will get lots more positive interest in your bike and ad if you add the mileage and a price. Good luck with the sale and thank you for not cutting it up.

Don’t cut it. Save that for one that is over the hill so to speak. At 26k yours is still young

I highly doubt you’ll part it out. Someone will take it whole no issues. On the off chance I’m wrong tho I’d like to get a few bits. Keep us informed

    Josh,
Dave "Hogfiddles" Fox keeps track of the XJ900's and has recorded a registry of the US registered bikes by their Vehicle Id Numbers and keeps track of who owns which one and where it has been, is going. You can start a conversation, a private message, to send him the VIN. Standby for a conversation from me as well.

    Josh,

Being that it was a "Barn Find" and it had been sitting for quite some time, did you get any documentation with it?

And by the looks of your picture, it seems to be complete, so I would shy away from parting it. The reason I say that is even though it's a huge undertaking to revive/restore these bikes, it would be a great deal to someone willing to take it on.

    Tony

P.S. One of the FZX Fazers that I have I got from a guy in Spencer and looks like your not to far away.

Hey! Congrats. You are not going to do the cut it up for "café racer" thing are you? That would be bad, not nice at all.

going out for new blades and wheels for my Sawzall and grinder this morning.;)
where I live we have no cafes to race to and from. so there would be no point in doing that.
Shes going to stay the beautiful way Yamaha made her. clean sexy lines and curves.
