So was taking my 71 beetle down to my daughter , coming around a curve at 60 mph got to close to the shoulder and went off the road almost hit a tree , missed it and hit a no passing sign , I m not sure just how much damage , car was towed off before I had a good chance to look. I restored this car around 98 I know I'm sure it can be fixed , but hope insurance does not total it out. I'm a little sore , but so upset about car.

Could have been worse. But it's just surface damage, nothing that can't be buffed out :)

    Glad that you are okay!

That can be fixed. It will take some time and a new fender , bumper and front apron replaced.
The beetle is a great little car I still drive a 64 Bug to work every day that I am not riding my bike.

Looks like you have almost the same engine setup as I do.
How is the front apron? Is it crushed in?

That's good , at least parts are rather inexpensive. Find a local VW swap meet and pick up all that for less than 200$. I see some in Indianapolis in October. Try to get original parts , they fit better. I have found that the aftermarket parts require "massaging" to fit.

Even if they total it it's worth buying back. The salvage value will be low, so you'll have a decent amount of the settlement to put towards repairs.

Most places won't do something without your approval…

I'm not seeing anything to indicate structural damage-you can do this yourself.

I see other people here have parts as well… My dad just restored a 76 and a 78, so if you still need parts let me know and I can check with him.
