So I’ve went to change my oil and noticed it had fuel mixed inside and was almost a water texture. What can be causing this? Can my floats be bad? If so how can I distinguish a bad float

Many, many posts here on the forum about sticking/leaking float valves. Typically a carb rebuild is in order, using parts from our resident guru at XJ4Ever (in the upper right-hand corner of the web page).
Also, it's a good idea to add your specific bike year/model to your signature so people know what you're dealing with.

When you get ready to put the carbs back in after all your had work....stop. Find a way to get them on a stand or in a vice and level them out. Hook a AUX fuel source to them and test them before you put them in the bike. This way you can check for fuel level in the bowls (wet set) and find any leaks that could be coming from float needle jets or gaskets around the bowls. It really is disheartening and frustrating to get them in the bike and have them still leak or fill your crankcase full of fuel.
