For those who don't have know me already, I have a 1980 Yamaha XJ650. Currently, I have a Lindby Linbar on my bike. I like it, but when I really lean into corners they scrape the ground. So I started looking for something that sticks out less.

I just wanted your opinion on whether the guard I picked out will fit. From what I could figure, the measurements seem correct for my bike. I assume this guard bolts through the engine mounts, that's the distances I measured.

Here are the measurements in the description, it's item #221911832993 on eBay but you'll have to search sold listings to find it.

"When completely closed, open side brackets measure 12" inside to inside...The bar side measures 10 7/8" inside to inside."

    Anyway, thanks!

That's very disapointing. They look so close to the Yamaha guards, aside from being one-peice with the cross bar.

Never scrapes, if the bike falls over nothing hits the ground, only a skinny car is gonna get to my legs...
The look isn't for everyone but the guards are great!

You bought the one piece and it doesn't fit? I'm confused.

They're just a little too small. It's touching the exhaust but won't reach the mounts...

Return 'em. I might would try to make them fit but I'd probably just ruin the plating.

Btw, the reason for the price variance between the two is metal quality, plating thickness and weld quality. For protection bars I wouldn't skimp on the metal or welding quality. The plating thickness means it will last a LOT longer in the elements.
