Throttle Cable Shrunk?

    So I recently took my carbs to church and I’m impressed with the outcome. Gave her a spin despite the valve clearances and mixture not being set yet and noticed my idle is a bit choppy.

    I removed the carbs to synch the butterfly valves closer to what they should be.

    When I went to put the carb rack back on the bike my throttle cable wouldn’t reach the linkage.

    No matter how much I pull or how I set it, the throttle cable is not long enough to reach the butterfly valve linkage and certainly wont reach if the cable is in the bracket.

    Not sure what happened? The bike was all set up perfectly like 2 hours ago now the throttle cable shrunk? Any ideas???

    What model bike are we talking about?

    also, make sure that you are connecting the cable to the throttle linkage and not the en-richer (choke) linkage (seems to be a common problem)

    have you lost the short linkage cable , that links to the end of the cable nipple to the carb shafts.?
