I realize that since they did this almost 3-4 years ago, and I only joined in September, have others talked about or seen the show "Long Way Round" from Ewan and Charlie? It's the trip they take on motorcycles from the UK to New York.

My wife and I have been watching it through Netflicks, and it's awesome. A bit of swearing, but, when your bike breaks down in Mongolia, or you dump it repeatedly in a short stretch of time due to roads of mud, it's only human.

Well worth the time to watch if Global Warming hasn't cheated you of snow or winter.

I saw that when it first came out and I just finished watching "Long Way Down" which is the sequel where they ride from Scotland to South Africa.

both of which are really good - also interesting is the Race to Dakar with Charlie... pretty good, but not as good.

I have finished the first book, almost done the second book...

I am in the process of reading the book that was one of there inspirations for doing the original trip. It is called Jupiters Travel's by Ted Simon. It was written in the 70's and he did the trip on a Triumph 500 twin. I am only on the third chapter and he has already used his spare piston and modified the rings in Africa with no new parts available. Great reads!

I'm really bummed. They cancelled the Dakar Race this year due to terrorist threats. It was supposed to start on Sunday but was cancelled on Saturday.

This is one of those things I have always dreamed of.
