Bolt snapped in clutch

    Hi again
    Just been replacing clutch plates and just as i started tightening the pressure plate bolts one snapped, luckily i was able to remove it no problem.
    Just wondering if i need to get the actual bolt from Yamaha or could you just use 6 ordinary bolts, obviously same size for balance or is there some thing special about OEM bolts.

    You should be able to source a regular steel bolt for the application. I would suggest a Grade 8.8 simply because it is the most reasonably priced spec grade bolt that should handle the abuse of the clutch basket. Be sure to match the under-cap flange size. Best of luck.

    I had the same problem happen to me - I used an ordinary bolt that was hanging around. Been that way for 2 years and no problems.

    Thanks, just what i thought. Got a drawer full of brand new nuts bolts & washers and quite a few stainless as well so should find a good match.
