I need you’re big brains. I’m rebuilding a 1988 XT350. New valves, springs, guides, valve job, etc. Using Plasiguage I checked the clearance between the cams and cam caps and it was within specs. When I torque the caps to 7.2 ft/pounds the cams won’t spin. They did before I disassembled it. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Did you remove the plasti-gauge before you torqued the caps? Sounds like something is still in there?
