More specifically silver or gunmetal- anyone done it.

My tank needs a few dings removed and I was already planning on a complete job on the whole bike.

I’ll admit I’m not a huge fan of black vehicles, but the fact that the bike is completely factory minus an in-line fuel filter has me held back.

    let’s see em

yes. since pic, changed grips and mirrors.
bike was sun faded red when I got it. The "grey" only lasted about 2 weeks. 11oz spray paint, It went on thin, can emptied fast, and was ruined by gas.
    now it's black.

Gotcha, they just looked a little less swept back than mine from that angle.

I swear I don’t see how taller people ride these things comfortably. I’m 5’ even and I feel cramped. I guess I’m used to stretching out more on sportier bikes

5' [even] or 5'11? - I'm 6'0" [185lbs] and I find this to be a goldilocks bike for me. I also thought the bars should have more of a sweep like earlier xj maxims. I've grown accustomed to them and like the rider geometry. - different strokes , for different folks.

    Even

This is my first cruiser. I used to ride a 500 ninja and a first gen 650 ninja. By no means were they hunched over super sports, but they definitely have a different riding position.

I guess I’m just lost when I’m not leaning forward

the man I bought it from was 6’3”-4” and sold it because he felt weird on it. It had belonged to his mother back in the day

That’s pretty sweet, I assume you’d stripped everything down to the bare frame in doing so?
