Agree.....and as a rider, listening to your engine is some would day required, to catch mechanical emergencies before they happen!

The ONLY time I used to listen was, in the late 90's as a bike courier, I 'made' myself a Walkman, using an old cassette player, some wired headphones.....this was PURELY to keep me awake on those long Winter night runs, where insomnia/hallucinations WOULD happen.......at the time , this seemed to do the trick nicely, being a change from my usual rock tracks

Where do you start? Hey kerriskandiesinc, I was a bike courier down in the Smoke from mid 80's until about Y2K. I worked for Marathon, Delta, West1. West1 were my favourites once I got established.

Sorry, not posting a youtube link, but some of my goto's are Dream Theater (prog metal), some classic Iron Maiden, occasionally Dead Kennedys.

I play classical Piano. Chopin was a genius the great composers all were but the first time I heard Jordan Rudess I knew he was classically trained. My cousin told me he was Dream Theater's keyboard player and I started listening to them great musicians, great music. Missed the concert in Glasgow unfortunately. I liked Iron Maiden's track Brave New World which is about Aldous Huxley's dystopian novel by the same title. Dream Theater are one of the best prog metal bands I have ever heard. I am very enthusiastic about music.

sorry guys, I should have been more precise, not looking for your favorite music whether you're biking or working in the garden,
looking for songs specifically about riding. Here's one from Satch

In 1975 my 3 friends and I were juniors in high school. We had just got our driver's license. Our parents, unbelievable, let us go to the Black Hills to camp. We were in a campground one night, getting ready to sleep in our tent. A motorcyle gang pulled in next to us. All we heard was a tailgate of a pickup bang as someone yelled, "Get the beer out."

In those days of course, there was definite stereotype of motorcycle gangs. We thought we would have our throats slit, etc. In the morning, we got up and started to make pancakes and trout from yesterday's catch. There were bikers sleeping all around us. As they woke up, we blared Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild" on the car's Craig 8 Track stereo with the car windows open. They loved it, and came over and had pancakes with us. Cool memory.

Rammstein is one of my favorites, I have an autographed copy of their double CD "Rosenrot" from their release party at the London Hard Rock Cafe.
