camshaft holders

    ok ,i have a problem to find a camshaft holder her in EU for my yammi xj650 4 ko year 85,anybody know if is the same of another tipe of yammi.
    i have one broke and is on right side of driving

    That’s a bummer. They are sold with the head only but I do have some spare ones if you can’t find any over there.
    Same caps as 80-83 any xj650,700,750,900

    Nope, only the XJ engines use them.

    We also have new replacements available if needed.

    Yes that is ruined. Good that Chacal has them to get your bike sorted.

    Are these caps the bearing surfaces for the camshaft? If so changing a cap will cause incorrect clearance or even no clearance at all. The caps are line honed to the head from the factory. The entire head needs to be replaced if this is the case.

    While true that they are align honed at the factory, it does not mean you absolutely have to replace the head. A quick check with plastigauge will determine if the replacement is suitable. There are others including my self that have replaced one without issue.

    Also, on the 650 head there are two caps that do not serve as a bearing. They are simply there to provide an attachment point for the valve cover. I *think* this is one of them but I have not rebuilt a head in ~4 years and would need to run out and dig through my parts to see

    yes this is just a point for screw of valve cover to hold it down
