I have an 82 xj750j maxim. Took it to a guy to get tires changed. After changing the back tire, something is messed up in the drive line. The bike rolls when in gear as if it were in neutral. After starting the bike, i put it in gear, let out the clutch and it wont move. It bogs down and stalls. Help

I second that! My best guess is he unbolted the whole gear drive from the swing arm and pull the driveshaft out. When he slid the driveshaft in it didn't go into the u joint and the u joint flopped down and jammed against the swing-arm causing the motor to stall when you attempt to take off.

^^^ above is good advice on going back if the tire changer took tires off of the bike.

But I would ask if he removed the shaft setup and fix ix myself unless he is a friendly guy.

So the back tire is on that way it should be? Looks like the splines are all lined up? That shaft should not have been touch for just changing the rear tire. Lets hope that really didn't mess something up for you. Hope it is a real shop and has insurance and wants to keep their good name in check. Take it back to them and have them fix it.

I agree with jayrodoh. If the wheel spins freely when in gear then it is not connected to the drive shaft.
