Hey guys, I'm starting to get ready to paint my bike. I was wondering what is the best way to remove several layers of paint from a) my Tank, and b) my fenders?
Here's a pic of my tank. As you can see it needs a paint job! Any comments or suggestions would help.

your local parts store should carry a selection of enamel strippers. they do wonders! just spray on, and watch the paint peel off :)

don't use strippers on plastic parts. that's bad news for the plastic.

does it need to go back to metal, if not i would just cut it back with wet & dry, prime it to get an even colour base coat, then finish it.

If it all needs to come of you could use paint stripper but i find it messy and the outcome is not always very good. On my tank i used a hand drill and a sanding disk. On the front guard i just cut it back and primed, with it being plastic i thought drill was a bit aggressive and paint stripper might just melt it.

Thanks guys, I think I'll use the trusted hand sanding method on the fenders, and I'll have to think about the tank tonight over a cold one and the hockey game!
