I'll bet nobody has done anything sillier than this recently. I have a perfectly good XJ900F. It is my main means of transport. Guess what I bought today? A perfectly good XJ900N to keep it company!
I mean, what was I thinking?

No, sorry, the word "thinking" has no place in this post.

Please, somebody else write in and tell me they've got more than one of the same bike (and that they live outside an institution).

I'm an idiot too! I've had my MaximX for about 15 yrs and last summer I bought anothere one! It'd beed sitting in someone's backyard for three yrs and it's definitely a fixer-upper. If I finally get off my a$$ and get it running in the spring it'll the GF's bike.

Oh... I also picked up a couple of XJ650's (1 Maxim, 1 Seca), mostly in plastic bins, to cobble together.

I have an 82 Seca and I got a 650 Maxim for a parts bike. I wasn't sure if any of the parts would fit (or if I would be needing any of them) It came in handy for parts after all. It's nice to have extra parts (starter, stator, etc) but in your case, if the second bikes in good shape...chop it!!! Then you'll have the best of both worlds.

Take a look at this and tell me you could have left this little orphan alone and crying by the side of the road.

Hey Big - nice ride and you are right. How could you leave that sweet little thing?

Just how many orphans are there and just how deep are your pockets? Sounds like Aussie XJ's are like cute stray cats. Once you start you can't stop. Doesn't make you crazy; it means you have a lot of love to spread around.
