Mirror surround xj650

I am looking for the black plastic ring that goes around the outer edge of the mirror on a 1981 xj650. The mirror is the black style not the chrome one.

 

Get a new mirror

 

I know I can get copy mirrors but I want to keep it original and they ain’t the same.

Get a replacement oem one

What model bike? I am trying to think of a 650 that doesn't have the chrome mirrors.

 

Well, they weren’t chrome, they were polished aluminum. But the 650rj had black powdercoat. Also, so did the 650/750 midnight maxims.

 

Oh yeah..........I forgot they made midnight 650's too. I assumed it was most likely not an RJ since it's 81 but I have no idea where he lives.

I’ll look around and see if I have an extra set. I know I swapped my black one out for bright ones, but I don’t recall if I still have them anywhere.

 

What you have in the picture are not original to begin with....
They should be like this— only black.

 

They are the originals, the uk bike had round not square

People who want to go for the "Euro" or "cafe" look can substitute these mirrors and still have an OE-like look and fit. Round black plastic heads are 4" in diameter and mounted on 7" tall chrome stalks which have the correct reverse-thread mounting on the right side stalk. NOTE: these mirrors can also serve as a good substitute for the XS1100 Standard mirrors, with the following differences noted: the stalk differs in length and at the bottom turn-out of the chrome riser stalk (45* bend vs. 30* bend on stock XS1100 Standard mirrors). These changes throws the mirror upwards by about 2” and “outwards” by 2-3” more than stock, which also makes them a great substitute for bikes with flatter-than-stock handlebars or for a "wider" look behind (or for bigger riders who just end up staring at their shoulders with the stock mirrors!). Very nice quality, great chrome finish.

I saw your earlier post but I can’t tell, no pics of Lens stuff but Len has always gone the extra mile to see what I had and match up if possible. I was attempting to summon him to the thread.
