Head unit electrical mess

So I just took off the head unit of the motorcycle and found this within the bucket I had to dremel cut off because it was already cracking and destroyed, ordered a new one on Ebay.



Doesn't this just make you wana barf? No organization or labeling of any kind, wtf is wrong with people...
Any help with me figuring out what all these wires go to besides obvious things like lights?

 

When I replaced my fuse block I had to splice several wires , easy I bought spools of green, brown,blue,red , and used AMP connectors, not cheap but quality never is and looks much better the PO had cut and hacked in blade fuses , it looked terrible .

 

if you were to go with a digital speedo/tach most of those wires go away

After I got finished chopping up the mess the prior owner made, first picture is the side that has the ignition wires coming off it, second side is the side with the Auxiliary Light switch.

I organized/labeled and cleaned (With electronic parts cleaner, cleaned the contacts and such) up all the wires that I knew where they went to such as turn signals, ignition, aux light, ect...

Can someone help me figure out what the rest of these wires go to/if I need them? I'm planning on attempting to hook up an electronic gauge cluster, any good recommendations?
