    I was gonna buy a 81 xj550 this week but after looking at it I think it’s more than I’d care to get into, it’s in central Alabama, if anybody wants a parts bike let me know,

    Yeah it needs a total redo, I can get it for 400, just more than I want to do, it’s all there (minus side panels) and looked like simple bike to work on but Definitely needs strip down to frame.

    The Secas are a nice little bike. If you can get it for a fair price take your time and go over it. Maybe you will end up fixing it. IMO, parting it out should be a last option. Good luck.
