1983 midnight maxim master cylinder rebuild

    hello . i have put new brake lines on my bike cleaned calipers and slides greased fittings made sure everything slides as it should. i put in new dust seals on piston. pistons do not seem to totally let off the disc when i roll the bike it seems hard to push like the brakes are sticking and i hear a squeak when the wheel turns. brakes also have been bled well. next is the master cylinder does anyone have any tricks or advice to give me on the squeaking or the master cylinder rebuild

    Are the grooves for seals and dust seals absolutely sparkling clean? If not piston will not retract as they should. And a couple of mm of free play between adjusting screw and m/c piston.

    did you have to modify the hole in the pads to get them to fit?

    no i guess i dont know about modifying the holes , just took the master cylinder apart and found the small hole in master cylinder was clogged i used a small torch file to clear out the hole
