Are the bearings not supposed to be re-greased? The service manual says to only check for smooth spinning of the wheel, periodically. No info on greasing or what grease to use.

They are sealed bearings on the XJ's lubricated during manufacture.

Ok, I looked and saw grease but now I see the balls are sealed.

My 700’s looked like that (unsealed) on one side too, sealed bearings on the other

So, the service manual maintenance chart show no lubrication intervals, just a spin test for roughness. Later in the manual it shows the exploded view of the parts and shows the bearings from both sides and says to grease them. Crazy. Anyway, got the wheel balanced and together and had a nice, cool spin.

You could use a grease gun needle and injects through the seal if you wanted
