    I'm looking for the tach gear for my XJ550. I already have a new cable, thread adaptor, etc. However, I cannot find any NOS or many used tach gears for my bike. I really want to be running at 100% this Spring, so if any of you guys could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

    do you have a picture of the part you need or can you tell me where it is located

    I'm looking for this assembly right here. I'm most in need of parts 1, 2 and 3 in the diagram. It's located right between the two left-hand side exhaust headers if you're looking at the bike from the front. If you have it all, and would rather ship it as one, that's fine too.

    i was thinking that it was in the instrument cluster
    which i have a complete extra with a cracked casing

    #2 is just a seal which you can buy online. The gear and housing you will have to find one from a wrecker. I just emailed a guy who was selling a head on eBay and he sent me a setup from a parts bike he had in the yard.
