81 xj750 jetting

    Who has the magic jet settings for an 81 xj750 w/ pods and 4 into 1 exhaust?

    Make sure your timing is in spec, cam chain is tight, intake manifold boots aren't leaking and then start experimenting. Stock jets are #120 or #122 so you're going to be going bigger than that. I'd imagine you need to change the pilot jets and float as well (correct me if I'm wrong).

    Thanks for the reply, I don’t have my bike back together yet after resto but before, the carbs had 122 and 43 jets with the airbox and it was rich. I will have to experiment for sure.

    I've got the same main jet and mines running lean haha. But I'm pretty sure my intake boots are all mangled up.
