Alrighty by the title you can see that I am a dumbass who can’t remember. I was looking at getting this 85 xj700 maxim and for the life of me can’t remember if it has a center stand or not. I see both kick stands and center stands when I googled it. Does it have both? Or just one or the other? I’d prefer a kick stand over center stand but it’s not a deal breaker. If it is center stand I can convert it right? (Felt this wasnt technical or I would’ve posted it there)

Mine has both, and they mention both in the manual, but whether the one you want still has both...
    Ask the seller

Seller is a friend who lives right around the corner. It doesn’t bother me I was just curious and already went and took a look. I’m not trying to be too nagging if that makes much sense (a lot of messages were sent lol)

Centerstands are also useful when parking in tight spaces, on soft surfaces, and in windy conditions.

Didn’t think about those. I think it’s just a style thing. I feel like center stands take away from the bike imo in terms of style. Then again I guess I’m biased

Style doesn't solve problems, at least not usually.

Centre stand is better too if you want to work on the side stand switch.

I love my center stand on the bike. It is great to park the bike among others with it straight up. It stands out like [Family Friendly Forum]. It also makes it easy to lube the chain.

Center stand is good for taking pressure off of the tires and steering bearings. If storing for a long time dont forget to spin the front tire to not get a flat spot on it.

Off topic but it is a shame they don't have kick start's on bikes now. Great to have backup if starter clutches pack up.

I don’t miss it. I’ve had so many dirtbikes that were kick start and it’s a pain in the [Family Friendly Forum]
