Hi all, I tried to pull the breather cap off the final drive housing - the top part of the cap snapped off leaving the cone-shaped bit sticking out the top. Does anyone know how to remove that? Do I clamp some vice grips onto it & just pull it off?
    Bike is a 1980 650 Seca

Why do you think it needed to be removed in the first place?

I'm rebuilding the bike to new condition & the cap was sitting unevenly and needed zinc plating

I've got a VMax that I stripped to the frame and rebuilt as a blinged-up streetfighter (about 10 years ago now). That has an almost identical breather cap which my mechanic must have removed as the cap was chrome plated.

UPDATE: plug has been removed, I clamped vice grips onto the cone-shaped protrusion and pulled it out. Fortunately NOS are available as the original is completely knackered now.
