Hi guys I have a xj750, it was sitting for a few years I cleaned the carb got it started. I drilled the jets a bit afterwards. To clean them good. Maybe the holes are to big, but when I put new plugs in it. It’s starting for a bit then my Cylinders start dying. I put out the plugs and then wet I test for spark then nothing. Then when I clean them they have spark again. I put them back the bike starts then the same Procedure occurs again. Any advice. It was a 30 main and a 46 jet, I also have a 4 into one exhaust pipe. And no air box. Any advice?

Drilling jets is never a good thing. Unless you have a complete set of number drill bits and a lot of experience doing it. Pilot jet should be a 43 and main 120 for stock bike.

Also, cleaned plugs aren't always reliable and may break down and short out inside under pressure, replace your mainjets to those suggested by toomanybikes and if you have drilled the idle jets out get a set of standard ones and new plugs and that will give you good base to start from and may not even need any more re jetting.

Thanks guys I’ll keep you guys informed. I’m from South Africa. So going to be difficult to get new jets. Not shipping them from overseas, but when it arrives here from imported country it goes automatically to L South African post office, and they are useless! Still awaiting Arrivals from February
