That's a sign of a Collector Edition. Costing more NOW than when they were new!

    I haven't a clue.

I left a $50 deposit on a new seca 750 at a dealership in York, Pa back in 1984. The sale price of the bike was somewhere between $2500 & $3000. More than I sent on my 1st car (72 VW bus). I never went back to get the bike. I was a salesman livin in Jersey at the time.

Okay...enough speculation, guesses, reckons, and idunnos. Are the CLASSICS??? Hell yeah they are! Not only classics, but vintage iron. Not only that, but in many cases antiques. Not only that but they are moving works of art. Locomotive libations. Two-wheeled turn-ons.
Okay...enough of the joking with words. But Classics? Yes! If a Deusenburg, Mercedes SL-230, Harley Knucklehead or AC Cobras are classics, then the XJ Yamaha is just as much so. They are relatively rare, high performance (for their time) and currently prized and sought after machines. I think that easily qualifies them as classics.

    Not only that ...

But most of us have at least one that's tuned and ripping!
    And, not only that ...

In most cases ... we OWN them ... outright.
    No Payment Books.

And, running better than some Bikes that have Payment Books thicker than the darned phone book!
