Your gallery can hold up to 5 MB. Most digital cameras these days take very high resolution, and therefore large file size, pictures. So you will want to convert your pictures to a smaller file size / lower resolution before posting them. How to do this depends on what computer and software you have access to. Check whatever photo management program you are using to see if it has an "export" feature that allows you to copy a picture to another file while changing its size. With a bit of trial and error, you should be able to get settings that will save a good quality file for web posting that is under 200 KB.

To have a picture for your avatar you will need to use a similar procedure to above to create a very small image file. It must be no larger than 6 KB with dimensions of 90 by 90 pixels. To achieve such a small file size, you can use tricks like reducing the colours and eliminating background detail. Once you have this small image file, go to My Account > My Avatar and use the "Upload Avatar from your machine" option to upload the image file.

    Cheers,
    Bruce
