need a set of carbs for this xj

ive been looking for years holding onto this bike. and if i could find carbs i'd keep it.. other than that its up for sale. its all original, needs a battery and carbs . and a good cleaning from sitting over the years. this bike only had 23k miles on it and new tires. i have extra parts that got with it.

 

Which XJ? There's a range of them with various carbs attached. A picture, model # or VIN would help.

 

I notice and older post of yours mentioning an XJ maxim 700

Seems pricey though. I found a set for around $100 for my XJ550, though they're a smaller version.

Seems a shame to give up for want of a carburrettor you have carb rebuild experts in the States surely?

 

Also note that XJ700 Maxim air-cooled models carbs (Hitachi) are completely different from XJ700-X water-cooled models carbs (Mikuni)....

Heh, well, worst case, once he tells us for sure what he has, Dave probably has a rack in his rack of racks. (I've seen in his shed)
