Help with Maxim X compression testing procedures

I've searched the forums and believe I found the correct method to perform a compression test on my '86 Maxim X. I also know what the spec range is, however I recently read that I should unplug the TCI before testing to avoid damage to it. I have seen a picture of the box but can someone tell me where it's located and (if it has multiple plugs) which one to disconnect before a compression check? Thanks

 

it has 2 connectors to be disconnected disconnect the connector with the red/white wire gray wire and orange wire it is the one that connects to the coils
should also have a black wire . it is near the battery left side of bike

I didn't have a 12mm adapter for my compression tester last week, which in hindsight was a good thing, otherwise I may have already tried performing the test before reading about the sensitivity of the TCI box.

Do I need to disconnect the battery before unplugging the TCI harness, then reconnect battery for test?
