Now that my latest Seca project is nearing completion I'm going to be having a thorough garage sale.
    Starting with tanks.
Pricing reflects basically what I have in them. Postage extra.
The yellow one is clearly the best candidate here.
The bad, it has a tank liner installed, the good, it looks like a proper job.
For some unknown reason there is a threaded plug installed opposite to the petcock.
    $120.

    Silver one
kind of rough but absolutely salvageable.
Seams at bottom are rust free, most important.
dent in top not too deep for bondo.
    $60

    Red one
held fluid when I parted this bike but there is goop applied at the bottom seams.
Pretty ugly, someone looking for a challenge have at'er.
$10 for my packaging and trouble of posting

Maxim XJ700N head pipes. Chrome is actually pretty good but some rust on back side which isn't really visible.
About as good as they come, however there is a dent in #4 visible in the pic.
    $80.00

    XJ650RJ headlight assembly.
I have 2 bikes with this hd light so I'd like to keep 1 spare lens in case of road debris chips.
I will assemble a very good complete headlight with the best of the parts.
Ain't gonna let it go cheap though $150. I know how rare these are now.

FZ600 oil cooler can be adapted to XJ.
Note the cooler is slightly offset on the FZ so the lines are not symmetrical.
Diverter plate is all the same as XJ
    $50 for all

I do have some and they actually look pretty good. They’re still bolted to a Seca motor so I can try removing them if you’re interested.

It turned out that the carb holder/intake manifolds That I had were for a 650 maxim and
would not fit my seca. You said you had a good set of these bolted to a seca engine. If they
are in good shape, no cracks, I'm very interested. P.M. me with cost and I'll pay with
paypal and give you my address.

I rebuilt an xj650th seca a few years ago. It had a plastic shield with no logo
over the brake line junction. It may be aftermarket but anyway I have since
    found one on ebay

I guess it’s gonna depend on what you’re calling it then......the 650rj has a piece that goes on the front of the forks, has a few recessed parallel grooves molded into it, and is in the location that is the ‘fork emblem’ on the 550 maxims, 650 Maxims,750 maxims and secas, etc........now it that is what you are calling the ‘shield’, then yes, the 650rj has one.......It’s a fork emblem that just doesn’t say yamaha on it. Based on the initial description, I think people were picturing a different part.

posting to another member's request for controls.
He gets 1st dibs on a mint RH side (shell only).
I thought I needed to post the pic here.
It's as good as any decal from 1982 can be.
LH side is original and decals all there.
I would buff it and not paint it as the decals are all pretty good.

Could the oil cooler be adapted to an xj550 Seca.

How much would you be selling the Turbo front fairing for?

There are some that “will interchange” but not necessarily fit perfectly. I want to do an interchange write-up As some point but just have not had time to swap that many things yet.

    the issue is that:
    1. models have taller/shorter pipes
    2. models have narrower/wider exhaust port spread
    3. Collector box inputs vary in length, spread, distance forward/back
    4. Compound curves of pipes
    Etc.....

I did get a 650rj that had 750 rj pipes on it.
I had a 750rj that came with 900 pipes on it
I have a 700 that had 650rj Pipes and collector box

I did not investigate if there were any machining mods done.

there ARE interchanges that “fit” and “work”, though not ideal.

I have found that USUALLY interchanges work best when The pipes are used in conjunction with THEIR respective collector box.

One constant is that the rear collector box mounting hole/engine bracket is always at the same location.

That said, Longer pipes may either need an extra spacer since the collector may ‘hang’ a little lower, shorter pipes my bring the collector up a little ‘tight’, etc......The thing to do is put everything together as best you can LOOSELY. This allows sone of the ‘mismatched’ angles to ‘fit’. Once everything seems to be in place as best as possible, THEN start tightening things up evenly.

you may need to create some muffler hangars, as those mounting points may not match if you swapped mufflers, too. I make those out of 1” (or so) by 1/8” flat steel. Measure, bend, cut, drill, paint semi-gloss black, and install.

    fwiw,

    dfox
