Hi I am new here, not new to motorcycles I own an 1981 650 maxim. I saw an ad for 1985 700x that pops out of 1st gear. I am not afraid of splitting the cases but what is likely the cause? This bike only has 13000 miles. Great group here by the way.

Popping out of gear under power is usually caused by worn dogs on the gear. Often the result of clutchless changing.

John, if it’s the blue one, I’ve sent several inquiries to him, never heard any reply. Good luck.

Yes it is, I haven’t heard back from him either, just noticed that ad dates back a long ways. By the way we live fairly close to each other.
