I'm Gijs, living in Holland, 21 years and just crazy about motorcycles.

Past two years i've been riding around on my Honda CB350f, such a lovely bike only to bad that after some highway abuse (about an hour throttle wide open ) she started leaking oil pretty badly. I've got me a big-bore (528cc) engine for that baby and some other goodies but first I started to fix my XJ650 because the law finally allowed me to drive on it.

There she is, almost finished (kept saying that for over a month) Only driven it for a couple of miles because of some carb troubles but the bright side, the feeling of the bike was just perfect right away. Didn't do anything to the engine btw, want to replace it anyway but if she runs good it will be easier to sell.
On the background one of my XS360's, only driven it 100 miles before I started a rebuild. Thats about 2,5 years ago but still my favorite bike.

And here the XJ650 wich belong to my father, bought brand new by grandpa and know I can ride on it.

Welcome Gais. Very nice 650, and a cool family story. Maybe consider not selling it but passing on to your next generation.

Never let go of that 650! It is simply too perfect that you know and are related to everyone who has ridden/owned it.

I didn't catch it before. But they are two different 650's. One is the family one, one is the project. Is that right Gais?

Yeah, we got 2 XJ's. One is mine and the other is my fathers (the one that got in the family brand new)

The last one will stay original and we never sell it, even got the original tools and lock with it. After some winterabuse (in holland they put salt on the road when it freezes...) and a failed TCI my father didn't use it for a couple of years so we had to restore it a few years ago.
Eventually I have to do it again because we still use it on a regulair basis, when you got a bike you better use it :p

But first I have to set up my XJ how it should be, its running but cilinder 1&2 are to rich en the other two are running lean.
