I’m switching from the maxim stock handle bar to the European sport bars. Does anyone have any idea what mirrors would work well with these much shorter bars.

    Thanks-

the problem was the mirror mount on the maxim's were angled and the seca's were flat

I would source a set of seca controls...

Then yes - the mirror stems would been either extending... I think vmax was an option

Also remember that on some of the XJ's there is a right and a left mirror. The threads are different on each side of the stock mounting holes. The right hand side has a reverse thread.
So....when you get new mirrors, make sure they will work for whatever mount you have.

Yes yamaha has these reversed threads on most, if not all, of their bikes.
There are adapters avalible but never used them myself, no feedback here!

My 550 has original bars, but mirrors are missing. And while I know I'll have the originalthreaded holes to fill, I am considering these:

seller has them in chrome and black.
This seller also has single filament 4 light signal set, different dual filament pairs for anyone who wants to change to smaller and/or dual function marker lights. Tons of cheap dress-up stuff.

Learned this the hard way last week while swapping out the handlebars... Luckily i got off without damaging it too much. Note: to self carefully ready your manual before. during, and after working on the bike.

I installed bar end mirrors on the bike. I get a great view behind me and not of my shoulders. I can almost see where I stared my ride.
