I was in a sales meeting at round table pizza and some lady came in going "does anyone have a motorcycle in here?" and i go "i do!" and she says "well someone just hit it and took off" So i run outside and catch the guy. I got all of his insurance info and I took it to the repair shop. Now it looks like they are going to total it out. Might be time for a new bike... who knows...

hey if anyone wants to help me out. Post an Ad on Craigslist SF bay area for your XJ for like 2500 bucks. The insurance guy needs to find at least 3 other bikes on CL for 1800 or so (thats what i told him i paid for mine hehe) so that would help me to get a new one. If anyone does this i'll give you a cookie.

If they do total it, and it's not too bad you should look at buying it back for salvage.

I had an older car once that was rear ended. The insurance company totaled it because they couldn't find tail light lenses (this car was from when a bumper was a bumper, the girl that hit me pushed most of her car into the taillights).

I bought the car back for 20cents on the dollar.

Oh, the taillights. I happened to have a pair - insurance company never asked me for any!

Do you end up having to get a salvage title?
Might want to check with YOUR insurer to see how they like this.

Some companies can be iffy if you have a salvage title(Either more expensive coverage, or NO coverage)
Do the research my friend, might be worth your time

hahaha well here is the beauty of it. my bike was already a salvaged title. But i think it has been off the books (last registered in 99) so i think regardless it was going to be a salvaged title. I may just end up trying to sell it for like $500 on craigslist. OR i'll just hardtail it like i wanted to.... hehe

I'd be right ticked with the jerk who was taking off. I hope karma catches up with him...
On a brighter note, you can probably find a used 550 for cheap and get one good one cobbled together out of them. Good luck on the 650!
