I am looking for new valve guides but I am having trouble finding them at a decent price. Anyone know if valve guides have reusibility guidelines? This is the only thing holding up the reassembly of the head before I put her back together!

The Haynes book (also available for download ..Somewhere :) give a specific dimension and even side to side play so if you got a Dial gauge you can measure it.(harbour freight sells passable ones for $15)
Those are Bronze Hydural guides Good but soft.. last time I looked the Dealer wanted like $8 each..Not free but fairly cheap IMO.
But installing requires a dedicated drift and a reamer to ensure that pounding them in has not 'altered' the inner guide bore :_0

Any decent cylinder head shop can "KNURL" your existing valve guides without removing them from the head.
    Should be cheap to do!

Bring the Head to a Machine Shop and have the Guides KNURLED as was just mentioned.
The Knurl process forces a Tool down through the Guide causing the Inside diameter to expand as the Knurl it worked to the bottom of the Guide.
Then the Knurled portion is drilled to like-new specs.

If you are going to have this work done:
    Replace the Valve Seals
Have the Valves done and Lapped-in
Clean-off and clean-out all traces of carbon deposits on the Ports and Combustion Chambers.

Valve Job, Knurled Guided, Reface Valves and Seats, New Seals.

The Head will be like New!
