Xj650r carbs will 750 carbs work?

hey guys, new member here. New to here but always on the forums.

Anyway I ruined my original carbs and need to order a new set, not worth rebuilding. I'm looking for a set, its a 1982 Xj650r that I need carbs for, will the xj750 carbs work or will the 550 carbs work? will the years matter? Not to worried if i need to order a 650 rebuild kit for the right jets if I need to. Looking for a quick answer if possible so I can order these tomorrow. Or if anybody has a set or knows of Direct fit 650 set let me me know and ill buy lol.

not sure, but I have put 650 maxim carb rack on a 550 maxim engine with aluminum tube adapters and silicone hose.

its a forum, give it time, and someone will chime in and tell you for sure.

what do you want $ for the carb Rack?


also contact @hogfiddles and he may be willing to sell you a rack of the ready to install. just have to talk to him im sure.

 

They are the same carb, but with differences in some of the jets, and the main jet needle.

How are your carbs ruined?

 

what do you want for your current carb rack $$ let me know, and a picture would help also.

 

Put them in a corrosion/rust remover that someone had used and It ate through the internals and ruined the slides.

I guess you could make an offer but I'm only going to sell them after I replace them and make sure I don't need anything small, but I would sell them.

 

I would be interested, but will need to see the current condition. before I made any offer.
