Xj550 compression test

    Finally took a compression test after roughly 5 months of building…

    don’t ask why I didn’t lol

    here’s the results in numerical order.

    I’m really really happy with this! Unless I shouldn’t be?

    also all my plugs looked identical and had just a small amount of white fuzz but mostly black.

    Which I’m also really happy(?) with!

    #4 - 135lbs

    #4 is a bit high, what could be causing this?

    Carbon build up in #4?
    Maybe exhaust valve not opening properly. When is last time valves were adjusted?

    I would also highly recommend you do a leak down test. This may be more important if you had low compression but I have found it to be a great indicator of the health of your motor.

    Turned out my valve clearance on all exhaust was tight, but especially #4, I’ll be swapping them today!
