Deep Roller Bearings

    Do the deep roller bearings (l am assuming they are) in our XJ gearboxes and starter clutch support bearings have C3 clearance? Not being an engineer l am not sure if the bearings need to be C3 due to the expansion when the engine gets hot. There is some play between the inner and outer races on a used bearing l have but l don't know if this is due to wear or it was designed that way.

    Yes, many of the internal shaft bearings are specified as being C3.

    Interesting Len do you know which ones are C3 and which ones have no letter classification?

    Somewhere I have a list! If you can send me the Yamaha part numbers that will make it much easier for me to get you a quick reply. This is for a 900 engine, correct?
