New thread concerning the 85 XJ700X I bought a couple of days ago. 20210811_121000.jpg
It has 17000+ miles, a missing seat cover button (the rearmost one), rust in the tank, carbs needing cleaning, and aftermarket handlebars. Otherwise it looks amazing. It was stored in a garage for last 5 years which allowed the tank to rust up but the outside bottom looks great so far (tank not removed yet).

    Wow that's a nice and complete X.
Is even the rarer blue, with the silver tank badges (which are on the unobtainium list).

Pretty! Not so many blue bikes around these days, and that is a really nice shade. You have a couple of these don't you? You going to be the Hogfiddles (Seca 900's) of the X's?

I actually only have one other bike, the airhead XJ700N. No collection will be started here. Got the warning from the wife, one bike only. Once the X is good to go I will be selling the non X in the spring.
The other two bikes under the covers are my sons VN750 Vulcan and Honda Magna 750.

Hi Tony, I had no idea the blue was more rare. The color is growing on me. I found yesterday that is is not quite complete. The left side horn is missing.

Sorry, I don't have a spare for you (I looked and found a disassembled one that has no bracket).
Maybe Chacal can help with one?

BTW, my wife was a member of the "you can only ride one" club. I've rotated though quite a few over the years (cars too)
and now she's OK with the three that I currently have. I think she's been on most all of the ones I've had, so that helps.

Funny thing is I agreed to no more projects after getting the FZ10, but somehow the FZX, being that I've have it in the works for several years, didn't count.
