Hey y’all, finally got some crash bars and an airbox!
The air box came with a reusable UNI filter that looks to be in good condition, but I already ordered a paper replacement
I was wondering (since those filters go for about $40) if that would benefit the intake system? After all I bought the air box because the pods allowed too much..
should I wash and reuse the UNI foam filter or the brand new paper filter?

Also, I haven’t tried installing it yet, but what’s the easiest route to getting these on? I’ve read that pretty much no matter what you have to dismount the engine, but I’ve also heard you just have to take the carbs off and slide it in while using a heat gun.

I’d honestly like to avoid taking the starter, and engine off again tbh

I’ve been cursing this PO for losing the air box since day 1

Also.. what is the hole at the bottom of the box? I assume the larger one pointed towards the engine is for the crankcase breather, but the one pointed directly downwards has been troubling me

drain bottom and crank case vent .
the uni filter is not recomended for the 550 many times it is the source of running issues.
    go with the paper filter

    Okay!
Should that drain plug be capped or left open?
