Xj650 1982

    So I bought a xj650 1982 for 400 dollars but when I start it it revs at like 9000 and when I squeeze my clutch it high revees I work on bikes and I cleaned the carbs changed the boots I need some help I live in Roger city Michigan any body near can help

    basic is to make sure the throttle cable is lubed and adjusted properly. routed correctly not binding. should be a little slack at cable to carbs not banjo string tight

    make sure the throttle stop knob is adjusted properly (idle Knob between carb 2 and 3 in the back of the carbs.

    also check that the carb linkage is not stuck or hanging up on motor

    So adjusted the idle knob and put 2gallons of premium gas mixed with a little seafoam today she road beautiful now just need to get a new fork seal and then make her look presentable gonna take the wife to the tunnel of leaves in Petoskey
